The Complete Story of Where You Are

The GPSMAP 64s is capable of telling you the full details of your current location. On top of just being able to lock in quickly and secure your geographical location through satellite triangulation using GPS and GLONASS, you also get to know exactly which direction you are facing, how high you are, and even get a read of your current atmospheric situation. The varied sensors of the GPSMAP 64s are capable of reading your surroundings while you navigate the world.

Wider Connections without Wires

With the new wireless radios found in the GPSMAP 64s, you are now able to expand and connect wirelessly to a wide range of products from smartphones to Garmin’s other products using Bluetooth and ANT+ technology. You can expand the number of sensors that your device can use by connecting via ANT+, and even take on new functions like taking photos and tagging photos with your current location.

Not only are you able to share data between other sensors and gadgets, you can also now transfer data to other devices like mobile phones  and computers without the need for USB cables and proprietary connectors. You can even receive data like smart notifications from our mobile device and view it directly from your GPSMAP 64s display.

Travelling Made Easy

Utilizing Garmin’s BaseMap and your Free 1 year subscription to BirdsEye Satellite Imagry, you can be sure that you will have all the mapping convenience possible at your fingertips. The color display should allow you an easy view of what goes around you and even let you view geotagged images as you navigate the world.

With Basecamp support, you can easily make plans for your trips using highly detailed 2D and 3D maps along with all the maps you have stored in your devices. You can wirelessly synchronize the data with your GPSMAP 64s for convenience, allowing you to easily share, relive, and backup your adventures.

Explore More Maps

On top of the basic maps and the free Satellite Imagery subscription, you can further expand your mapping repository with a wide range of Garmin maps and custom maps found all over the net. The device features more than enough storage with 4 GB internal space, which you can further expand using a microSD card.

You can add a large range of mapping data to your device which includes TOPO 24K and 100K maps, BlueChart water maps, and City Navigator NT maps for towns and cities. Wherever you go, Garmin’s GPSMAP 64s is capable of guiding you to your destination and safety.

Geocaching Made Easy

Geocaching has never been more easy and economical. With 250,000 geocaches ready and installed to get you started, you can enjoy the hunt for the best sceneries, oddities, and locations around the world as spotted by the massive database of users of geocaching.com. Thanks to the 16 hour NiMH rechargeable battery pack, you can be sure that your device will last just as long as you can on a hunt. In case you need some emergency power, the device also accepts regular AA batteries on the go.

GPS Nation's Take

A significant upgrade from the basic GPSMAP 64, the GPSMAP 64s is equipped a varied number of new tricks up its sleeve. For one thing, you can toss your compass away since this one as a 3 axis compass built in for a more comprehensive navigation. It is also equipped with sensors that let you get a ‘feel’ of your environment, allowing you to explore the world with more knowledge.

What we enjoyed the most about this device compared to the basic one is its interconnectivity with other devices, especially smartphones. If you are a fan of Garmin’s products, you would really appreciate how well you can interact with your Bluetooth and ANT+ devices and PCs.
