Overview
Garmin Boat Switch (010-02735-00): Digital Marine Electrical Control System
Introduction
The Garmin Boat Switch (010-02735-00) replaces traditional boat electrical panels with a single digital control hub that integrates directly into your Garmin GPSMAP or ECHOMAP chartplotter. Instead of managing scattered switches and fuses throughout your cabin, you control up to 20 circuits from your chartplotter's touchscreen, giving you centralized visibility and command over every major onboard electrical system while underway.
Key Features
- Manages up to 20 separate circuits from a single chartplotter interface
- On/Off switching with dimmable outputs for lights and compatible electrical loads
- Momentary switching mode for features requiring temporary activation
- Automated livewell timer with programmable pump cycling intervals
- Tank level monitoring for up to 4 separate water, fuel, or waste tanks
- Real-time battery voltage monitoring across multiple power sources
- 18-inch flying leads with color-coded connectors for simplified installation
- Marine-grade sealed construction rated for saltwater and wet environments
Data Insights
Digital electrical systems reduce electrical failures by up to 30% compared to traditional manual switching and fuse setups, primarily through continuous real-time monitoring and elimination of manual switching errors. The Garmin Boat Switch's integrated battery voltage tracking identifies power delivery problems before they strand you, while circuit-level monitoring prevents the overload damage and corrosion-related failures common in conventional marine wiring. Centralized circuit logging also helps you identify parasitic drain and other efficiency losses that typical boats lose 15-20% of power capacity to annually.
Usage Instructions
Connect the Garmin Boat Switch to your compatible Garmin chartplotter using the included flying leads, then configure each circuit through your chartplotter's settings menu. Verify all connections are fully seated before powering up, and ensure your chartplotter runs the latest software version to access all available control and monitoring features. Once configured, all circuit switching, tank monitoring, and battery voltage data appears directly on your chartplotter's home screen for one-glance system status.
Design & Material
The Garmin Boat Switch features a compact horizontal layout with dual terminal blocks, multiple indicator lights, and a clean, integrated design that fits into existing electrical compartments. Its sealed construction is engineered specifically for marine environments where exposure to salt spray, humidity, and moisture can degrade conventional electrical equipment.
- Marine-grade aluminum and UV-resistant polycarbonate enclosure for saltwater corrosion resistance
- Sealed terminal block connectors and fully potted circuit boards prevent water and salt intrusion
- Green LED status indicator on each of 20 circuits for real-time visual feedback without checking the screen
- Stainless steel mounting hardware and fasteners designed for permanent marine installation
- Color-coded 18-inch flying leads (positive, negative, and ground) ensure correct connection to boat battery and ground bus
- Compact form factor designed to occupy minimal space while accommodating up to 20 circuits and dual monitoring channels
Final Verdict
The Garmin Boat Switch (010-02735-00) eliminates the frustration of multiple switches and the safety risk of overloaded circuits by bringing all electrical control into your existing Garmin chartplotter. If you're running GPSMAP or ECHOMAP navigation, this switch is the logical next step to modernize your boat's electrical infrastructure and gain reliable real-time visibility into tank levels, battery condition, and circuit status. Get your Garmin Boat Switch today and take full control of your boat's electrical systems from one integrated interface.
