Overview

Garmin Differential 50/200kHz Transom Transducer (010-10272-10)

Introduction

The Garmin Differential 50/200kHz transom transducer delivers sonar performance capable of reaching depths of 1,500 feet while reducing noise interference by up to 30% compared to previous-generation units. Built with dual-frequency capability spanning 50 to 200 kHz, this transducer provides both broad coverage and detailed target separation—essential for locating fish structure and navigating shallow flats to deep offshore waters.

Key Features

  • Maximum depth range of 1,500 feet for deep-water exploration and wreck fishing
  • Dual-frequency operation: 50 kHz and 200 kHz for flexible sonar performance across varying water conditions
  • Adjustable beamwidth from 40 degrees to 10 degrees for both wide coverage and precise target identification
  • 500W power output for enhanced signal strength and clearer underwater imagery
  • Transom mounting with 0 to 70-degree angle adjustment to accommodate different hull configurations
  • 6-pin Garmin sounder connectivity (requires 010-11612-00 adapter cable for compatibility)
  • Marine-grade plastic construction rated for saltwater and freshwater environments

Data Insights

Differential transducer technology reduces thermal noise and cross-talk interference by up to 30% when compared to older single-frequency models. This performance gain translates directly to clearer sonar returns, improved target separation for distinguishing individual fish from structure, and more reliable depth readings across a wider range of water temperatures and bottom compositions. Operators report notably sharper definition when identifying hard structures like rocks and debris versus soft targets like fish and vegetation.

Usage Instructions

Mount the transducer on the transom using the included hardware, positioning it at an angle between 0 and 70 degrees based on your hull design. Ensure the transducer face remains fully submerged and unobstructed by water flow while underway. Connect the 6-pin connector to your compatible Garmin sounder (an adapter cable may be required). Verify that depth readings and sonar imagery appear sharp and consistent before extended operation. Periodically inspect the mount for corrosion or loosening, particularly in saltwater environments.

Design & Material

This transducer combines functional engineering with durability. Its compact, streamlined profile minimizes drag and water turbulence, while the marine-grade plastic housing resists salt spray, UV exposure, and mechanical stress common to boat transoms.

  • High-quality marine-grade plastic material resistant to corrosion and salt degradation
  • Compact profile reduces hydrodynamic drag during trolling or cruising
  • Robust construction withstands impact, temperature fluctuations, and prolonged saltwater exposure
  • Adjustable transom bracket accommodates mounting angles from 0 to 70 degrees
  • 5-pin connector interface engineered for secure, waterproof connection to Garmin electronics
  • Professional-grade specifications suitable for both recreational and commercial fishing operations

Final Verdict

The Garmin Differential 50/200kHz transom transducer is essential for anglers and boaters who demand reliable, high-resolution sonar across variable water conditions. With 1,500-foot depth capability, adjustable beamwidth, and proven 30% noise reduction over older technology, this unit transforms your ability to locate structure, track fish movement, and navigate safely in unfamiliar waters. Whether you fish tournaments, run charter operations, or explore new destinations, the combination of depth range, frequency flexibility, and proven durability makes this transducer an immediate upgrade to your navigation system. Install this model to gain the underwater visibility serious boaters require.
