Data Insights
The GMR 1234/1236 xHD3 demonstrates robust performance metrics that distinguish it in the commercial marine radar category. The 25 kW output model achieves a maximum detection range of 96 nautical miles while maintaining the ability to track 30 distinct targets simultaneously. The dynamic auto gain feature continuously optimizes signal strength across varying marine environments, ensuring consistent target detection and reduced false contacts. Rotation speed flexibility between 24 RPM and 48 RPM allows operators to balance power consumption against screen refresh demands based on operational requirements.
Usage Instructions
Optimal performance requires proper antenna alignment during initial installation and periodic calibration of radar settings according to your vessel's operating environment. Enable the dynamic auto gain feature to maintain consistent target detection as sea state and weather conditions change. Use the split-screen dual-range display mode to monitor both nearby obstacles and distant weather patterns simultaneously. Regularly verify the dynamic sea filter adjustment matches current water conditions to minimize false clutter while preserving genuine target signatures.
Design & Material
The Garmin GMR 1234/1236 xHD3 reflects professional-grade engineering built for extended marine service. The horizontal open-array antenna configuration minimizes aerodynamic drag while maintaining structural rigidity, and the white finish provides excellent visibility in bright conditions while seamlessly integrating with modern vessel aesthetics.
- Commercial-grade composite and aluminum construction for corrosion resistance in saltwater environments
- Aerodynamic antenna array design that reduces wind load and structural stress on mounting hardware
- High-speed open-array drive motor engineered for smooth operation with minimal acoustic signature
- Compact pedestal mount footprint suitable for installations with space constraints
- Durable white finish that withstands UV exposure and harsh marine weather without degradation
- Integrated cable management and sealed connectors to prevent moisture ingress and electrical corrosion
