Overview

Garmin Marine Network Cable (for GMM, 6ft)

Introduction

The Garmin Marine Network Cable (model 010-11425-09) is a purpose-built connectivity solution for boaters relying on Garmin marine monitoring systems. This 6-foot network cable delivers reliable data transmission between compatible Garmin devices, eliminating weak signal handoffs and dropped connections that compromise real-time navigation and safety monitoring on the water.

Key Features

  • Length: 6 feet (1.83 meters) for flexible deck layout and device positioning across various boat configurations
  • Direct Compatibility: Works with Garmin GMM 150, GMM 170, and GMM 190 marine monitoring systems without adapters
  • Reinforced Connectors: Built with heavy-duty connector housings rated to withstand 500+ connection cycles without degradation
  • Water-Resistant Design: Sealed connector heads and jacketed wiring maintain signal integrity in saltwater spray, rain, and continuous moisture exposure
  • Flexible Jacket Material: PVC cable outer layer rated for temperatures between minus 10°C and 60°C, resisting UV degradation from extended sun exposure
  • Color-Coded Internal Wiring: Industry-standard wiring configuration with labeled leads, reducing installation errors by up to 40%

Data Insights

Marine cable quality directly impacts sounder performance and GPS accuracy. High-quality network cables like this Garmin model improve data transfer speeds by approximately 30% compared to standard marine cables, resulting in faster chart updates, more responsive sounder imagery, and reduced latency between sensor inputs and display output. This speed improvement is particularly critical during approach navigation and bottom scanning in variable depths.

Usage Instructions

Connect one end of the cable to the network port on your Garmin GMM monitor and the other end to your compatible networked device, such as a transducer interface or secondary monitor. Secure both connectors until they click into place. Route the cable along existing wire runs when possible, avoiding sharp bends or kinking that could damage internal conductors. Keep cable routing clear of hot exhaust vents and engine components.

Design & Material

This cable is engineered specifically for marine environments where temperature swings, saltwater exposure, and physical handling demand superior durability. The construction balances flexibility for installation with structural integrity to protect sensitive internal wiring from corrosion and signal loss.

  • Heavy-Duty PVC Jacket: Outer insulation resists salt spray, UV rays, and mechanical abrasion from deck use and storage conditions
  • Reinforced Plug Housings: Corrosion-resistant connectors with strain relief boots prevent water ingress at connection points
  • Shielded Twisted Pair Conductors: Internal wiring design minimizes electromagnetic interference from engine electronics and radio systems
  • Flexible Core Design: Cable core remains supple in cold weather and resists kinking during tight-space routing behind electronics panels
  • Industry-Standard Connectors: Compatible male and female RJ45-style connectors match Garmin network port specifications without proprietary adapters
  • Lightweight Construction: Approximately 8 ounces total weight, reducing strain on connection points and simplifying single-person installation

Final Verdict

If you operate a Garmin GMM 150, GMM 170, or GMM 190 marine monitoring system, this 6-foot network cable is the reliable connection your boat requires. Original Garmin-manufactured cables ensure compatibility, performance standards, and durability that aftermarket alternatives cannot match. Protect your investment in marine electronics and maintain the real-time accuracy your navigation and safety systems demand. Order the Garmin Marine Network Cable today and eliminate connectivity gaps that compromise your on-water confidence.
