Overview

Garmin Vector S to 2S Upgrade Kit: Pedal Power Meter Upgrade for Spindle-Based Force Measurement

Introduction

The Garmin Vector S to 2S Upgrade Kit delivers spindle-based power measurement directly to your pedals, transforming your cycling training with precise force data that elite athletes have relied on for years. By measuring spindle deflection hundreds of times per second, this upgrade captures the granular power output data needed to identify weaknesses in your pedaling technique and optimize your wattage distribution across both legs. Unlike drivetrain-based power meters, pedal-mounted sensing eliminates the guesswork from training, letting you make informed adjustments to your performance in real time.

Key Features

  • High-frequency data sampling at several hundred times per second for precise real-time power insights
  • Spindle deflection measurement technology provides accurate force readings across the pedal stroke
  • Integrated dual accelerometers for automatic cadence detection without additional sensors
  • Installation completed in minutes without drivetrain modifications or complex setup procedures
  • Force sensor and electronics sealed within the pedal spindle for water and dust protection
  • Composite construction with minimal weight addition to maintain pedal efficiency
  • Compatibility with Garmin Edge devices and compatible third-party platforms via ANT+ connectivity
  • Pedal thickness of 15-18 mm and 44 mm width designed for standard crank arm installation

Data Insights

Cyclists using the Garmin Vector system have demonstrated up to 15% improvements in power output through structured analysis of pedal-by-pedal force data. The high-frequency sampling captures micro-variations in force application that traditional power meters miss, revealing imbalances between left and right legs and identifying inefficient pedaling phases. This level of granularity was previously accessible only to professional cycling teams and elite athletes with access to laboratory testing.

Usage Instructions

Mount the upgraded pedals onto your existing crankarms using the included hardware and Allen wrench. After installation, pair the pedals with your compatible Garmin Edge cycling computer via ANT+ pairing mode—the process typically takes under two minutes. Begin recording rides immediately; the system requires no calibration between rides. Monitor power metrics, cadence, and balance data through your Garmin device's built-in dashboards to track progress and adjust training intensity.

Design & Material

The Vector S to 2S Upgrade Kit combines a compact pedal platform with sealed internal electronics for durability across varying weather conditions. The design maintains compatibility with standard three-bolt crank arm interfaces while eliminating bulk that could interfere with ground clearance or pedaling mechanics.

  • High-strength composite materials chosen for fatigue resistance under repeated force cycles
  • Hermetically sealed spindle housing protects force sensors and wireless electronics from moisture and road contamination
  • Stainless steel fasteners and hardware resist corrosion in wet riding conditions
  • Lightweight pedal body minimizes rotational inertia without sacrificing structural rigidity
  • Precision-engineered spindle tolerance ensures consistent deflection measurement accuracy across multiple power ranges
  • Low-profile 44 mm width reduces foot positioning constraints and clearance concerns on dropouts

Final Verdict

If you're training competitively or seeking objective data to break through performance plateaus, the Garmin Vector S to 2S Upgrade Kit removes the uncertainty from power-based training. The quick installation means you can begin collecting actionable metrics on your next ride without downtime or mechanical complications. Upgrade now to access the force measurement precision that drives measurable cycling improvements.
